Frequently Asked Questions (In-Person Certified Food Manager Training)

Q: What do I need to bring to the class? A: You must bring a valid, government-issued Photo ID (Driver’s License, Passport, or State ID). The proctor cannot allow you to take the exam without it. We also recommend bringing a notebook and pen for the review session.

Q: Is lunch provided? A: Lunch is typically not provided. We schedule a 30-60 minute break between the training session and the exam. We recommend bringing a packed lunch or visiting a nearby restaurant during the break.

Q: Will the exam be on paper or a computer? A: We primarily utilize digital exams administered on tablets or laptops provided at the venue. This allows for instant grading so you know your result before you leave. However, paper exams may be available upon prior request (grading for paper exams takes 10-14 business days).

Q: What happens if I don’t pass the exam? A: While our in-person pass rates are very high due to the immediate review, we understand test anxiety happens. If you do not pass, you can register for a re-test at a discounted rate. You do not need to sit through the full training day again unless you wish to.

Q: How long is my certification valid? A: Your Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certificate is valid for 5 years across the United States.

Q: When should I arrive? A: We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to check in and find a seat. The class starts promptly at the scheduled time to ensure we cover all required material before the exam.
